Would you like to gain experience in the field of eating distress and eating disorders?
We have triage call placements available which would suit student counsellors, psychology students/graduates and those with experience of the mental health sector.
We are currently seeing increasing demand for our service and have a waiting list of 6-7 months for an initial assessment.
This is an opportunity to gain experience working in the eating distress field by carrying out triage calls to people awaiting an assessment with us. The calls acts as wellbeing checks for people on our waiting list and make sure we are the most appropriate service to assess them.
We’d like people to volunteer from our office so there are counsellors you can speak to for any queries as well as contacting our counselling lead and/or our CEO for any safeguarding concerns.
If you can volunteer at least 2 hours a week, commit to a minimum of 6 months of placement with us, and be available for volunteering Tuesdays to Fridays, 9-5pm, we'd love to hear from you.
If, after an informal interview chat, the placement is appropriate for you, we'd give you a full induction and training, including CPD-accredited training on eating disorders.
We will require an up-to-date DBS (EDNE will cover the cost of this if needed) and will ask for two references.
If you're interested please contact Erin Burton, Senior Counsellor at erin.burton@edne.org.uk to request an application form.
