Do you want to make a difference to the lives of people affected by eating distress?
Eating Distress North East (EDNE) is the only eating distress charity in the region, with a 36 year track record of supporting people with eating distress and their loved ones.
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for someone with experience of coordinating and delivering high-quality mental health services.
We need someone to help us set up a new service for our charity, delivering non-therapeutic emotional and practical support to people aged 13 and above living with eating distress.
The Wellbeing Support Co-ordinator will recruit, coordinate and manage volunteers and paid employees delivering support and hold their own case load, acting as a recovery champion, promoting choice, self-determination and opportunities for connection and understanding.
Specifically, the service will offer:
- Befriending and emotional support.
- Support around meals, and food/clothes shopping.
- Independent living skills, including travelling on public transport.
- Support with leisure, social activities, and interests.
- Education, employment, and volunteer support.
We will provide full training to develop specialist knowledge and access to further training opportunities to contribute to your professional development, including through a training budget.
EDNE also offers a staff wellbeing service, 3% pension contribution, rising to 5% after 12 months, and a supportive and flexible working environment.
If you have an advanced understanding of delivering this type of support within mental health services and experience of managing staff /volunteers in the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, we’d love to hear from you.
An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.
